Privacy Policy
Round Two is an interview-preparation app for Australian job seekers. You bring in a job listing and your resume, and Round Two shows how well they match and coaches your practice answers. This page explains what the app collects, what it deliberately doesn't, who helps process it, and how to delete it.
1Information we collect
If you don't sign in
Round Two processes the text you bring into the app so it can do its job: the job listing text, your resume text (extracted on your phone from a PDF or Word file you import), and your practice answers. We don't keep this on our servers. Your saved jobs, resumes and practice history live on your device.
To limit each device to one free job, the app uses Apple's DeviceCheck. This records a single yes/no flag against your device on Apple's servers. It isn't linked to your name or Apple ID, and we can't identify you from it.
If you sign in with Apple
Signing in lets you keep your prep across devices. When you sign in we receive:
- An identifier Apple creates for you in this app. It is not your Apple ID email address.
- Your name, only if you choose to share it the first time you sign in.
- A token from Apple that lets us disconnect your Apple sign-in when you delete your account.
We don't ask for your email address and we don't receive it.
Once signed in, a copy of your data is saved to your account on our servers: your profile details (headline, skills, summary), the text of the resumes you import (not the original file), your saved jobs with Round Two's summary and match results, your practice questions, and your practice answers with the feedback you received. We also record whether your free job has been used.
Everything is tied to your Apple-generated identifier, so it counts as information about you.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Round Two Pro, Apple handles the payment and the app checks your subscription on your device. We don't receive your payment details.
2Voice recordings are never collected
When you practise out loud, your speech is transcribed on your device with Apple's Speech framework. The audio is never written to disk, never sent to Round Two's servers, and never stored anywhere. Only the resulting text is used, the same as a typed answer. Round Two asks for microphone and speech recognition permission on your phone for this, and you can withdraw it any time in Settings.
3What we don't collect
- No email address, phone number or payment details
- No analytics or crash-reporting software
- No advertising, no ad trackers, no use of Apple's advertising identifier
- No location data
- No access to your contacts, photos or other device data beyond the resume file you choose to import
- No scraping of job sites. Job text is read on your phone from a page you opened and chose to bring into the app. Round Two keeps its own summary of the listing, not the original wording.
4Who helps process your information
Round Two relies on a few providers. Each only receives what it needs.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude API) | Writes the job summary, match analysis, practice questions and answer feedback | Job listing text, resume text and practice answers, for each request you make. Your resume text may contain personal details you put in it. |
| Cloudflare | Runs Round Two's backend and, for signed-in users, the database that holds your account data | Everything that passes through the backend, including your account data if you sign in. Standard request logs (time, request type, status) are kept; we don't log the text you send. |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, DeviceCheck, subscriptions and the App Store | What Apple's own services need to work, under Apple's privacy policy |
Anthropic and Cloudflare operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States. Anthropic handles the text it receives under its own terms and privacy policy, which are separate from this one.
5How long we keep it, and deleting it
Text you send for a job summary, match analysis or feedback is used to produce the result and is not stored on Round Two's servers unless you are signed in, in which case the saved results sync to your account.
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. To delete it, open Profile in the app and tap Delete my account. This removes your profile, resumes, jobs and practice history from our database straight away and disconnects Round Two from your Apple sign-in. Copies on your own phone are not removed, and you can delete them in the app or by deleting the app. Text already sent to Anthropic for processing is handled under Anthropic's own policies.
You can also delete a single job or resume in the app, which removes its synced copy as well. Signing out keeps your account and its data. Only deleting the account removes it.
6Your choices and rights
Round Two is developed and operated from Australia, and we aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can see, correct and delete your information in the app. If you want anything else, such as a copy of what we hold or help with a concern, email us below and we'll respond. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
7Children's privacy
Round Two is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll address it.
8Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Round Two changes. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page changes. If a change affects how your information is used in a significant way, we will tell you in the app.
